Agnes Murray was one of the first hundred women to graduate in Law from the University of Glasgow. She was born on 21st March 1910 to Jessie and Robert Murray, a grain merchant. The family home was at ‘Kanjong Katong’ in Kilbarchan. In 1928 Agnes matriculated for the classes of Forensic Medicine and Civil Law. In the following two years she completed the curriculum for the B.L., occasionally with difficulty, and graduated in 1932. She would have been serving an apprenticeship at the same time. When she married James Scott King Patrick, a clergyman, on 12th April 1937, her occupation is recorded as assistant Officer in the Unemployment Assistance Board. At that time she was living in Marlborough Ave., Glasgow. Later the couple moved to Leeds where the records of the General Council list their last known address as Leeds Prison. She died on 28th August in Leeds, aged 85.
